Local Technology Firm Reveals New Insights into Why Post Merger Integration of IT Teams Often Fail
Oakbrook Terrace, IL, April 29, 2008 — Geneca, a Chicago based custom software development company, will host a panel of technology leaders to demonstrate new thinking on why some newly combined I.T. teams quickly rally and others fail. Titled I.T. Post Merger Integration: What Due Diligence Won’t Tell, the workshop will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008, from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Metropolitan Club in Chicago. Breakfast will be served and there is no cost for this event.
“While all I.T. teams have unique cultures, methodologies, languages, metrics and governance, the immediate focus of most I.T. due diligence is on infrastructure, equipment, technologies and applications,” said Mark Hattas, CEO of Geneca. “I.T. culture plays a vital role in the smooth integration of two teams and not heeding the softer aspects of post merger integration can cripple I.T.’s ability to quickly deliver business value.”
This event will provide ideas on how to quickly transform newly combined teams into a more aligned, predictable post merger operation. Topics that will be covered are aligning business success criteria across teams, developing common metrics for the combined teams, closing the gap between roles and responsibilities between teams, and identifying whether a single methodology across both teams is necessary.
Panel members include: Dave Kamath, CIO, Idex Corporation; Bob Zimmerman, VP of Delivery, Geneca; Lonnie Jenkins, Services BG IT Partner Director, Alcatel-Lucent; Sharon DeWitt, Director of Acquisitions, Zebra Technologies; and Mark Hendrie, North American IT Manager, ExLibris.
