What if you were one of the largest credit unions in the country and wanted to triple your customer base to 300,000 members, plus support numerous large branded and multi-lingual deployments, but your current technology was your liability? |
| |
| Critical Issue: |
Baxter Credit Union’s old platform was showing signs of age and was inadequate for the demands of a growing number of increasingly sophisticated online users. Baxter needed a new online banking platform that would enable them to:
1. Private label their credit union services in multiple languages.
2. Triple their membership within 12 months.
3. Increase the number of services used by each customer.
4. Compete head-to-head with major banks for customer share. |
| |
| Reasons: |
The existing architecture was not capable of supporting the changes necessary to achieve BCU objectives because even the most minor modifications took too long to implement. BCU was missing tremendous new revenue opportunities from additional corporate customers who were ready to private label the BCU credit union infrastructure. |
| |
| Result: |
Within 60 days of release, the business results are already impressive:
- Online loan applications doubled from 250 to 511 per month.
- The average number of new online users increased from 250 to 800 per month.

In the words of Mr. Johnson (CIO): "Geneca helped us get to our architectural dream goal of creating an infrastructure that is sustainable and extensible for the foreseeable future...and did it in less than 12 months...[and delivered] one of the most feature-rich, easy to navigate, and most effective user interfaces of any home banking site out there."
How good is it? The completely new user interface was scientifically measured at a staggering 95% for usability*. Geneca used its accelerator tools and processes to lead, manage, and execute the construction of both the middleware and a multi-lingual, multi-brand user-interface.
Adding additional, private-label companies, is as easy as creating the necessary graphical branding elements, translating the text to a new language (if necessary), and “turning on” the “new” application. This is accomplished in less than one week. |
