Have you ever eaten at The Cheesecake Factory? I’ve been there a few times, and there is a curious kind of struggle that takes place once everyone sits down and starts skimming the menu.

Besides having every flavor of cheesecake you can possibly imagine, they also have every kind of appetizer, and drink, and sandwich, and…well, you get the point. They have an endless amount of options! I know what you’re thinking – and you’re right. There are worse problems to have than wavering between several delicious meal choices. In fact, I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all and I quite look forward to going back.

However, my list of options isn’t only limited to dining out at restaurants with profuse menus. As a Millennial, I have so many different options across all facets of my life. With the rise of technology, Millennials have seen an increase in choices related to education, the workforce, and even how we spend our money and free time. And now these options are easier and faster than ever to find. We straddle the technology influx – we have access to all of today’s technology yet also still remember life without it. This puts Millennials in a unique position where we have experienced the merits of each and can pick which works best in specific situations. For instance, while I’m writing this from the comfort of my couch, snuggled up next to my dog, I also understand the value of having a face-to-face meeting with my team to discuss the content prior to starting the first draft.

So, that’s great for Millennials, but how does this affect you if you’re from a different generation? It’s important to consider if you’ll be hiring or working with Millennials in the future – and you certainly will be. Back in 2015, Millennials surpassed both Generation X and the Baby Boomers to become the largest generation in America’s workforce. That number continues to grow steadily as Millennials are projected to make up 43% of the workforce over the next three years; that means that nearly half of all employable Americans will be Millennials!
