The Client

The company is a global consulting leader in wealth and health management with annual revenues exceeding 4 billion dollars. The continual delivery of technology-driven solutions crafted to meet the needs of a changing workforce allows this company to assist organizations of all sizes in more than 150 countries through increasingly dynamic and complex environments. The client continuously evolves these solutions to keep up with the changing landscape of the finance industry.

The Problem

Since Geneca’s creation of the product, the industry’s use of data has evolved. The client needed a user interface overhaul that would make the application match the current desires of the insurers. The product is a proprietary software to manage pension liability transfers to insurance providers. The primary users, insurers, were reluctant to use the application as key reports were no longer relevant and the system wasn’t intuitive in the ways the industry now demanded. Instead, insurers were more likely to contact operations personnel at the client, resulting in additional work for those employees. The client needed to better understand user needs and add functionality that would make the application easy to use and more engaging for the insurers.

What We Did

The solution required the client to collect user feedback to ensure the updates would address real-world issues. Armed with this information, business stakeholders met with Geneca consultants for a 3-day ideation session to provide input on a new design and additional functionality. Geneca created a plan and itemized inventory for proposed changes to the pension risk exchange. The Geneca team worked in collaboration with developers employed by the client to redesign the system, meeting frequently with business partners that represented four different regions affected by the changes to implement ongoing feedback.

The Results

Geneca’s user experience overhaul to the pension risk exchange enabled the client to operate more efficiently, engage users, and meet the evolving needs of the insurance industry. Operations personnel were able to spend more time on high-level responsibilities. Representatives of the insurance providers gained access to informative reports and alerts that simplified their role. After the updates launched, the client received extensive positive feedback from users indicating that the system was easier to navigate, provided essential reports, displayed pertinent information in a digestible format, felt fresh and modern, and streamlined their data entry and pension transfer process.
